My Journey into Coaching
I have had a deep and abiding interest in the human condition and supporting people on their life journeys for as long as I can remember! As a lifelong learner, the world of Psychology, which I entered through my university studies, has been my passion for decades. Building on a fulfilling 25-year career as an English teacher, I eventually embarked on my dream of becoming a Personal Life Coach 13 years ago. I became a Certified Inner Life Skills Coach in 2012 and have since dedicated myself to helping both adults and teenagers connect / reconnect to that source of meaning and unique essence that resides within each of us.
In 2019, I completed Matt Licata’s Path of the Wounded Healer course. His embodied, compassionate approach to healing informs my coaching style and how I work with my clients.
My Coaching Philosophy
My approach recognizes that truly transformative inner work can be lonely and often feels painful. Thus, I offer guidance, companionship, and a safe-space to engage in deep, soul-centred dialogue. My sessions are unique to each person, acknowledging that sometimes we feel clear and certain about the way forward, while, at other times, we feel confused, hopeless, and broken-hearted.
My approach is deeply empathic, intuitive, and compassionate. Through my own life experiences and work with clients, I have come to see times of transition or crisis as a ‘path’ to wholeness, as opportunities to connect to our essence and step into our authentic power. My sessions aim to help you to find love and compassion for yourself as you truly are, not as the world or others want you to be. In my experience, when we focus our attention on these soul-centred issues, the ensuing shifts bring meaningful and lasting solutions to the ‘problems’ we are experiencing.

My Clients’ Experiences
“Before I began engagement with Venessa, I went through life repeating mistakes and being caught up in similar cycles of self-destructiveness and dysfunctional relationships. The inner work I was exposed to by her was hard and painful, but also deeply rewarding. I now have a set of tools to use when needed; I recognize that the work doesn’t stop. My wish (hope) would be that every young person has a Venessa in their lives. I’m so grateful for this wonderful opportunity to work with her.” – Monge
“My sessions with Venessa were beneficial to me starting my ongoing journey of personal growth, self-awareness, and self-love. Venessa’s calm presence and attentive manner never fail to put me at ease and open myself up to explore my life and reflect on my experience beyond my comfort zone. Even when things are tough, I leave these sessions feeling enlightened and supported. Venessa knows what tools to give me and guides me towards paths l’ve been able to explore on my own.” – Kirsty
“Venessa is a godsend. My experience with her has been unmatched; I have learnt how to love, forgive, and trust myself. I look forward to continuing my sessions with her as I embark on a new phase of life. I couldn’t have asked for, or found, a better coach!” – Keabetswe (18)
“Thank you for touching my soul, enriching my life journey, opening my heart to potential and purpose, richness and wisdom, sharing my challenges, celebrating the magic of what it is to be human. What a magnificent thing this “life” is when one’s eyes are opened. Thank you for sharing so passionately your amazing gifts and insights, Venessa!” – Sue
