Sue is a practicing executive coach who believes that understanding the entirety of a person is vital to driving sustainable change, which directly benefits the organisation. With over 20 years of experience in the coaching and consulting industry, she asserts that our interactions with others define us and shape our development as human beings. Connection, by its nature, is complex, and self-awareness often leads to a deeper understanding of others and the situations we face.
Coaching offers Sue a unique opportunity to merge her drive to build successful businesses with her passion for developing successful individuals. Her innate desire to support others stems from the belief that every person has the potential to be their most resourceful self. They can seize career opportunities and thrive in unpredictable and ever-changing environments by unlocking this potential.
Before joining Nabantu, Sue served as an Associate Director in Data Management (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). She delivered consulting services across various industries, including finance, telecommunications, metals and mining, healthcare, education, government entities, and consumer services. This extensive corporate background provides a strong foundation for her current executive coaching and leadership development career, ensuring she can confidently understand and navigate diverse organisational contexts.
Sue collaborates with individuals and teams to explore, activate, and integrate their potential. Her focus has always been on developing highly functional individuals, naturally leading to highly functional teams and organisations. Her strengths include building businesses, developing leaders, growing teams, working with teams under stress, and managing communication and conflict. Sue possesses a rare ability to combine an analytical mind with seemingly effortless people skills. She is equally driven by company results and inspiring people to achieve them. She is a natural leader who thrives on connecting with and motivating others.
Sue is deeply committed to fostering empowered transformation within organisations. She recognises the importance of establishing foundational and developmental programs to support this. Her understanding of the strategic drive required within an organisation, combined with her focus on people, allows her to manage the tension that often arises effectively. This commitment led her to become accredited as an Insights practitioner.
Sue’s expertise spans human performance and development coaching, process coaching, and team coaching. She has worked with executives to resolve communication breakdowns or when a new company vision is needed.
She has been selected as one of only ten coaches to work with the executives of an international bank.
Sue is a Certified Professional Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF). She has completed advanced coaching courses, including the Associate Coaching Course through the GSB at the University of Cape Town, the Master Consciousness Coaching course, and the 18-month Ontological Coaching and Leadership programme through the Newfield Institute in Melbourne.
She is an accredited Insights facilitator and Enneagram practitioner who conducts Perceptual Audits. In her coaching practice, Sue leverages these tools to provide a deeper understanding of individual and team dynamics, enhance self-awareness, and foster personal and professional growth. People love to buy but hate to be sold to. As a result, there has been a shift from traditional sales roles to becoming trusted advisors. At Nabantu, our sales coaching focuses on identifying strengths and weaknesses, examining what holds you back, and determining what works and doesn’t.
Based entirely on your desired outcome, we create a sales coaching programme that includes skills transfer, coaching, and regular stakeholder meetings to review progress and performance. Using case studies, we help you work on networking, qualifying leads, building trust, and ultimately closing the deal.
Additional offerings include interviewing your existing client base to gather feedback on their experience, conducting 360-degree feedback from colleagues, and using a sales-profiling tool.
Historically, companies have focused on people’s weaknesses instead of celebrating their strengths. A leader must focus on the team’s strengths because this motivates people, makes them passionate about their job, and ultimately improves their performance.
At Nabantu, we conduct our strengths coaching through a programme created by Marcus Buckingham called StrengthsFinder. Initially developed in the United States, this personal assessment tool has given millions of individuals a new way of positively describing their inherent talents.
