Personal Mission Statement
My interest in coaching people and organizations undergoing significant change and transition was sparked by a radical transition process I began twelve years ago. This included getting married (as a late bloomer), going back to study, changing careers and starting my own business after several years as a high school teacher of English. My transformation from someone who was afraid of change to a confident, qualified and experienced facilitator and coach (with 2500 coaching hours) working with corporates, NGO’s and private individuals was kick started by a coaching process I entered into after attending a career reinvention workshop. Through that I articulated my vision for the next stage of my life and set the goals, strategies and action plans which took me from where I was to where I am today.
Who & What
As a Career Coach I work with career changers or those wanting to advance within their current fields or organizations. I support individual executives who, in their private capacity, need accountability and a thinking partnership to assist with changes and transitions.
As a Life Coach I help people in any kind of transitional phase: marital status; relocation; life stage/ purpose; time management; work/life balance & relationships.
What has driven me to practice as a coach?
A defining moment in my life, in 2006, was watching a most powerful coaching intervention facilitated by Sonia March Nevis (then eighty years old), co-founder of the Gestalt International Center and student of Fritz Perls, one of the founders of Gestalt Psychology. I decided in that moment that I wanted to do the kind of work that Sonia does and be my own version of that extraordinary woman when I am eighty.
How I Work
As a committed CHANGE AMBASSADOR, I like to walk the talk. Having transitioned through significant change both personally and professionally at an age and stage when most think you can’t teach an old dog new tricks (40+), and despite a history of being change and risk averse, I am able to draw on my own experience when partnering with clients.
I work from the starting point that we are all doing the best we can given our current circumstances. And, that with a growth mind-set and a conscious commitment to our coaching process, we can overcome obstacles, tap into the fullness of our strengths, create an inspiring vision for our personal and professional lives, and set and achieve goals which will empower us to be the best version of ourselves. My style of coaching has been described as relational, intelligent and holistic, and I draw on diverse models and tools from business, philosophy, psychology and neuro-science.

Being personally committed to ongoing learning and training, I am enrolled on the MPhil in Management Coaching through the University of Stellenbosch. To date I have acquired the following degrees, credentials and accreditations:

Favourite tool/framework: The Enneagram
As an Enneagram practitioner trained by Enneagram Integrative Solutions, I have experienced how working with individuals and teams using this tool as a framework offers in depth insight and opens a pathway to self- discovery and self- awareness. It reveals both what holds an individual back as well as the potential for growth and transformation.
