Mindset Resilience Coaching Sandton
In this day and age we live in a microwave society where we want everything within 30 seconds or 5 minutes, and if we don’t get what we want in a short time period, we have a mini-meltdown and feel that life is not fair.
It’s the tendency to plant the seed of an oak tree in the morning and expect the tree to be there by nightfall so that you could build a treehouse the next day.
Similarly, the same can be said about life’s challenges that leave a mentally, emotionally or physically impact on us. We want an instant quick fix or remedy for every challenge, and if that doesn’t happen, we once again feel that life is not fair, and without meaning.
It’s the tendency to stand proudly in front of the treehouse you finally built, only to see it struck by lightning and destroyed, along with half of the tree. Immediately you think it’s all over for the tree and that the remaining half is useless and needs to be removed.
What we often forget in a situation like that, is that even though only half of the tree remains, it will continue to grow stronger and flourish, so that when the time is right, you can rebuild a bigger and better treehouse again.
This is the point where your strong mindset and true resilience kicks in with the patience and tenacity to allow the oak tree to regrow on its time, while you prepare to rebuild your new upgraded treehouse.
By definition ‘Mindset’ refers to “A habitual or characteristic mental attitude that determines how you will interpret and respond to situations”
By definition ‘Resilience’ refers to “The capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties”
Combined, ‘Mindset Resilience’ is “Having the ability to interpret challenges for what they really are and respond to them with a steadfast mental attitude to keep moving forward in life”
As reference to the lightening and treehouse analogy… The lightning in our personal lives that tend to cause the most damage to us are our fixed mindsets, negative thoughts and inner critics, not allowing ourselves to process negative experiences and emotions, as well as being indecisive and afraid of change because of lack of confidence.
This lack of confidence then cycles back to the fixed mindset, negative thoughts and inner critics, etc. which we continually rinse and repeat, eventually becoming the lightning to our own treehouse.
Which is exactly what I did.
The content of the Mindset Resilience Online Coaching is what I have personally used, and continue to do so, to help me strengthen my resilience and mindset over the past few years.
In order for me to have reached that point, I had to genuinely learn from my past experiences, no matter how awful, challenging or amazing they were. Only then, with a strengthened mindset and practiced resilience, could I start looking at life in a more meaningful way, part of which was creating Mindset Resilience Online Coaching to help others who want the same.
