Refilwe is an Executive and Life Coach with 12 years coaching experience in Executive Coaching, Life Coaching, Team Coaching and Leadership Development. She is a trained Coach and the founder of The Human Refinery, an Executive and Life Coaching practice.

She is a Partner with Change Partners Coaching, South Africa’s foremost Leadership Development practitioner. Change Partners was founded 22 years ago and was one of the first practices to focus on growing leaders in Africa

The effective delivery of successful and results-driven coaching experiences is her main aim and she achieves it through individual coaching, team coaching or group facilitations.

Her natural strengths and abilities allow her a level of analysis and problem resolution, She combines these capabilities with extensive experience and knowledge of various tools and approaches:

  • She uses the Appreciative Enquiry approach, Transformational Coaching, GROW and Co-Coaching methodologies to enable effective breakthroughs.
  • Refilwe also uses the Gestalt Coaching Theory where the coach is interested in facilitating the mobilization of energy for action. By supporting a client’s resistance, the energy being used to resist can often be mobilized for new action and for new learning.
  • She facilitates personal and professional growth Workshops and Strategy sessions for individuals and organisations and has an inherent bias towards helping women balance themselves in order to achieve. She has developed a Women’s Leadership Coaching Programme for women advancing in leadership.


Refilwe has over 12 years’ experience in the Corporate environment, specifically, Banking and Telecommunications environment. She has worked in the areas of Strategy, Retail, Corporate, Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Business Development: skills which have made her familiar with issues faced by ambitious, high achieving individuals, managers, executives and teams trying to be achievers on their own terms. She has used her understanding in environments as varied as Ghana, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, Botswana and South Africa.


  • Refilwe is an accredited facilitator for The Pacific Institute’s Investment In Excellence programme, a personal mastery programme that highlights the thought patterns of high performers.
  • She is also a Globally Accredited Lominger Coach, trained to deliver leadership development resources for individuals, teams and organisations.
  • Refilwe is a certified analyst of the Personal Development Analysis (PDA) tool, a psychometric and behaviour assessment that is based on the DISC model.
  • Refilwe is a BluePrint Accredited User – the Leadership BluePrint provides a leader with the opportunity to see how their beliefs are shaped by their experiences, the organizations and leaders that they have worked with.
  • She is also a 5 Lens Certified Practitioner – the 5 Lens Development Platform is a set of products, processes and methodologies designed to maximize human performance
  • She is a member of COMENSA.
  • She also holds certifications in several courses including Self-Management and Leadership Skills for Women, Strategic Brand Management and Project Management.
