My passion lies in empowering others to find their purpose, and maximise and fulfil that by being fully present and contributing to their communities in a value-adding way. Uncovering limiting beliefs and replacing them with empowering beliefs, while searching for new insights and possibilities, drives my passion.
Description of Self
I am the Founding Director of O A Busa Coaching and Consulting, and I have 27 years’ work experience, gained in different organisations and cultures in the corporate environment. In my last position I served as Head of HR in a leading financial services organisation. Most recently I worked on a contract basis in a government department. I previously headed the HR Division at the JSE and prior to that I was the HR Executive at the Legal Aid SA.
I have served on Boards of Companies in a Non-Executive capacity. My other areas of interest and expertise are: Training, Mentoring, Coaching, Professional advisory services, Workshop facilitation, Strategy development, individual and Team Development, Leadership and Management Development, and Youth Development.
Coaching Philosophy and Methodology
I work with my clients in a holistic approach, encouraging them to embrace all aspects of their being, challenging their belief systems, coming up with new insights and possibilities. As a certified Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner (NLP), the use of brain language techniques play a significant role in the coaching process.
I facilitate thinking by my clients to search for answers from within, while I give them the space to do the thinking. I use various techniques to help my clients achieve their desired goals and objectives.
This takes the form of conversations at different levels:
- Spontaneous (helping client to get unstuck)
- Competency (building a new competence), and
- Development (making a fundamental change)
Academic/Professional Qualifications and Certificates
I hold a Bachelor of Admin degree in Industrial Psychology from the North West University. I further obtained certificates in:

In my working career I have coached many people informally, and have recently started O A Busa Coaching and Consulting where I have made a decision to formalise the contribution I have made in the lives of many. I am looking at making contributions in helping people discover their purpose and potential.
My passion lies in unearthing maximum potential to fulfill one’s purpose and answer questions like: Who am I, What am I here to do, What legacy do I leave for those coming after me? During the meaningful conversations, these questions lead to, among others, the building and enhancing of spiritual intelligence, to complete other much talked about intelligence quotients, i.e. emotional intelligence.
I am currently involved in a number of organisations in a voluntary capacity as a Board Member, Chairperson, SABPP Mentoring Committee Member, SABPP HR Active Citizenship Committee Member. In these structures I provide coaching and mentoring as a voluntary service. I also partner with high schools for career conversations with matrics.
