Born in Johannesburg, and armed with a Bachelor of Social Science degree from the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg, I travelled to many parts of the world, exploring new places on horseback, on SCUBA and working for wealthy yacht owners. I met diverse people and learned about myself. On my return to South Africa, I chose to work as a Camp Manager in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve where my love of the African bush was born. In 2006 I was introduced to the world of coaching and never looked back.

My coaching style is drawn from a combination of training (Results Coaches) and my own life experiences, and is defined by my curiosity about life and business. I have spent hundreds of hours coaching people since 2007. I successfully designed and facilitated a leadership development programme called “Leadership Bootcamp” which ran for five years. I won the national “Non-technical Innovation Award” from BPeSA in 2015. I also won national “Best Coach” award from BPeSA in 2010.

Much of my work has been focused on helping managers make the transition from “managing self” to “managing others” (as outlined in Drotter’s Leadership Pipeline model.) I use my understanding of Ontology, Mindfulness and Neuroscience to help teams and individuals develop a Growth Mindset which has become essential in facing the rapid pace of change in business. I use the framework of the Enneagram to help individuals and teams understand why they show up the way they do. This understanding usually leads to insights about relationships and improved business efficiency.

I help my clients understand their motives and how those motives drive their behaviour.  I find that unconscious behaviours are usually what keep us from being productive at work and present for our partners and children. They also have a profound effect on our influence as leaders. I challenge my clients to shift the way they see the world and I do this with a personal understanding of how difficult that can be.

I have overcome my own limiting conditioning to emerge as a compassionate, forthright coach and facilitator who strives to help every individual and team find their way to a more empowering way of being so that business objectives become more attainable.
