Why coaching?

My college years were spent pouring over books of Philosophy, Psychology and Biology, out of my pure fascination for what makes us think, feel and behave the way we do. This fascination has never ceased and in the diverse career paths I’ve chosen, the common and overriding purpose throughout them all has been the desire to help people help themselves become better and happier with who they are in every aspect of themselves, mind, body and spirit. It’s been 3 years now since I’ve moved to South Africa from the UK and my fascination continues.

I have spent 19 years working with and developing people in the UK, Europe and now South Africa, as a Leadership Coach, ESCI accredited assessor, ICF ACC accredited coach, Somatic Coach, Somatic Educator, Executive Recruiter, Pilates Trainer, Yoga Practitioner and Personal Trainer. My coaching career began in 2003 after qualifying as an NLP practitioner and at the same time I continued learning more about the body and later the interconnection of the mind and body and the role of bioenergetics. It places me in the unique position of working with the interconnection of the mind and body to enhance both physical and emotional wellbeing. This Sensory approach to learning encourages a state of mindfulness that leads to acceptance, confidence and Authentic way of being.

Coaching style

Somatic principles of self-directed or non-directed learning uses Sensory awareness or learning through feeling versus thinking and is based on the theory that shift happens far quicker when working with both mind and body versus the mind alone. Somatic principles work with the body’s already Intelligent messaging system or nervous system to improve mindfulness, ease, centeredness and flow. Yasmin has developed her own sensory approach called Body Sensing which uses simple, breath, relaxation and mindfulness techniques that can help:

  1. Manage Stress, anxiety and pain.
  2. Improve mindfulness.
  3. Improve physical and emotional wellbeing.
  4. Improve Vocal confidence and communication
  5. Enhance alignment and posture.
