Julia is a certified Integral Coach® through USA-based New Ventures West and the UCT Graduate School of Business’ Centre for Coaching. She is also an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and a member of COMENSA.

Julia has been coaching since 2008, primarily to senior executives, management teams and professional individuals who are often working on strategic, leadership, relationship and life-balance challenges. Her continual interest in studying change, human behaviour, leadership development, philosophy and world cultures ensures that she remains current with the evolving ideologies of these varying disciplines and brings a breadth and depth of knowledge to each interaction.

Background

Prior to her coaching work, Julia worked in Equity Research for Goldman Sachs London for 4 years. On her return to South Africa in 2000 she earned directorship and Exco positions at public relations and communications agencies College Hill for 2 years and TBWA\Magna Carta for 5 years. In 2007, Julia started Lumminos – a Change Management, Coaching and Consulting business. Her clients include Absa Group, Absa Capital, Accenture, Change Logic, Ireland Davenport, The Jupiter Drawing Room, MTN SA and Standard Bank.

Coaching Approach

In the past decade, the integral approach to professional coaching has demonstrated its value and ability to help clients arrive at deep insights about themselves which can lead to lasting and meaningful development. The integral approach explores all the constitutive elements of being human: spiritual; cognitive; emotional and somatic. Rather than staying on the level of a client’s personality, behaviours and actions, it moves to the core of each person’s way of seeing their world and its challenges. The use of proven methodologies in a one-on-one coaching relationship ensures that each coaching candidate receives a unique and personalised coaching experience. The outcome is an individual who has faced personal blockages or tough goals, conquered them and learned the ability to self-generate and self-correct in the future. The process works towards building excellence
and supporting enhanced achievement.

Educational Background

Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Psychology and European Languages (1994) & a French Honours post-grad degree through the University of Natal Durban (1995).

Julia has completed Level 1 & 2 training of Wendy Palmer’s Conscious Embodiment work and as a trained Demartini Method® Facilitator is one of 850 people worldwide to have completed several advanced courses run by Dr John Demartini.

Keen to develop the coaching profession in South Africa, Julia is also a mentor for a group of second year students at the UCT Graduate School of Business’ Centre for Coaching.
