Bonita Lee-Shew
I have been involved in executive development in one form or another for over 25 years, and in coaching for 6 years. During this time I noticed how education is only one piece of the development puzzle. Coaching represents a more complete solution.
Executive coaching provides a safe and objective environment in which the executive is able to confide, receive feedback and support, have access to a sounding board, set challenging and inspiring goals that result in significant changes which raise levels of performance, and in more focussed, effective and fulfilled lives both professionally and personally.
I continue to be amazed at the courage and capacity for growth and change that people possess given the right kind of information and support.
Previous coaching clients
I have coached clients from a wide range of industries from financial services, pharmaceutical, mining, oil industry, parastatals. Companies include –
Shell; Nedbank; Standard Bank; Medscheme; Adcock Ingram; Bayers; Anglo American; De Beers; SA Post Office; Telkom

SM – FUELS MARKETING MANAGER - AFRICA, SHELL
I found your executive coaching to be a well facilitated process which seminally contribute to my self-development for improving professional (and personal) competence. Your sessions afforded me an opportunity of self-exploration and re- examine my predisposition. I got an opportunity to re-look at my values, thoughts and beliefs, prejudice and perceptions. From value-based judgement process, I got better wisdom. From establishment of relationships and interconnection process, I got understanding.
SN, TEAM LEADER - SYSTEMS ANALYSIS, SILICA
(The team coaching) was valuable as you managed to get us to talk and bare our feelings ... What was also great is that it created a bond with people that will always exist, so something special did happen. I think that now I am more open to not judging people as everyone has a story to tell and most people are not what you perceive them to be. I am more patient, understanding and I have learnt to actually listen. I liked your approach where you asked the correct questions in order to get us talking. The insights I have gained as a result of the process are -
People are different, respecting every individual for their differences is important, acknowledging people for their efforts makes them feel good, everyone has issues, listening without interrupting can bring about very useful conclusions.

Coaching approach
Assessment tools and surveys provide information and a context from which to begin the coaching process. The feedback gained from this ‘current reality’ exercise provides the candidate with insight which directs the goal-setting process and allows the candidate to set meaningful and relevant goals.
The coaching process is defined by the following principles -
- Structured and goal-driven
- Challenging, stretching and inspiring
- Supportive
- Solution-focussed
