Bev Edkins is a certified Professional Integral Coach with a practical, but compassionate style. She combines her extensive business experience with rigorous coaching to work successfully with leaders and professionals from a wide range of industries. She uses her expertise and experience to help individuals realise their full potential and organisations to meet their business objectives by assisting in creating leaders that are motivated, empowered and fulfilled.

Previous Background

Prior to becoming an executive coach, Bev established a successful track record firstly in private business and then in the financial services sector. She spent the five years prior to embarking on her coaching career at Nedbank, firstly as a Senior Tax Consultant, and then as a Senior Manager in their Retail Finance Division. In this latter role she coached a number of colleagues into management roles within the division. For ten years prior to this she was a part owner and financial director of a computer networking company before selling the business to a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

Coaching Work

Bev has been actively coaching since 2004 and has worked with executives and senior managers in various industries. These engagements represent a diversity of cultures and ethnic groups. Passionate about empowering people in corporate South Africa to have a voice, Bev works to create self-awareness and personal impact in the lives of the people she coaches.

As an associate of the Centre for Coaching at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, Bev has been a facilitator of a large scale Leadership and Change program which was rolled out nationally for a major client. She is also an experienced facilitator of Coaching Circles.

Educational Background

Bev has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. She has completed Coaching to Excellence and the Associate Coaching Program at the Centre for Coaching, Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town, an ETDP SETA official coaching accreditation. These local courses are certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF) in the USA. She has also been certified as a Professional Integral Coach by New Ventures West, an ICF accredited coach training organisation in the USA, which training was run in conjunction with the aforementioned Centre for Coaching. In addition to this, she is a fully accredited practitioner of the Adfen E-Scale (Enneagram).

Bev loves travelling, and has a particular passion for the African bush and travelling on the African continent. She also loves reading, poetry, music and the theatre.
